Morgana Festival

Location: E. 65th and Kenyon (just south of Broadway)

Time: 11am-7pm

Slavic Village's Morgana Little League is one of the longest-running continuous Little League in the US! What could there be a better way to show your love for this Cleveland gem--now in its 51st year of pitchin', swingin', and catchin' --than showing up in droves for the annual Morgana Festival? Pick up a couple hot dogs, bring your kids for the childrens' actvities, settle in to watch the All-Star Game, and make sure to grab the mic for karaoke: Take Me Out to the Ball Game, anyone?? Head over to E. 65th and Kenyon, just south of Broadway, between 11am and 7pm during Walk+Roll Slavic Village to be a part of the action.

Blessing of the Bicycles

Location: Morgana Run Trail and Ackley

Time: 2pm

Join church leaders from Slavic Village along the Morgana Run Trail at Ackley for a ceremony of Blessing of the Bicycles. There will be free helmets given to those with out one. The ceremony will take place at 2pm.

Folk Fest at Shipley's Coffee House

Location: E. 65th and Forman

Time: 1-4pm

Shipley's Coffee House is newly open for business this summer, and owners Billie and Norm Shipley are already diving into Slavic Village's busy summer schedule. Stop by this cute café on E. 65th for coffee, smoothies, baked goods (cheesecake!) and pita sandwiches... but grab a seat early, because Cleveland's Just Folkin' Around is playing all day at the shop. Community Fun Day with Elevate Slavic Village

Location: 3710 E. 65th

Time: 1-4pm

Elevate Slavic Village is a remarkable program of the Bethel Church congregation that seeks to lift up the neighborhood "through compassionate action." As part of Walk+Roll Slavic Village, these young, faithful activists will be hosting their second-annual Community Fun Day. Come for face-painting, music and food; stay for the basketball games, bounce house, and community fun! Pedal Republik of Cleveland: Bike Polo

Location: 5703 Fleet Ave (Rudowsky Automotive)

Time: 1-4pm

Polo: you probably are more familiar with this game in the water or with guys riding on ponies. You might also know that polo started out in the Middle East and was spread worldwide by the British. Here's what you probably don't know about the sport: a bunch of die-hard Cleveland bicyclists have been hitting balls with mallets from their bikes for years. Stop by to see something truly bizarre and completely awesome--the Pedal Republik's Bike Polo event. Morganic Garden Tours

Location: E. 65th and Kenyon

Time: 1-4pm

Morganic is one of the oldest community gardens in Cleveland. It certainly has a storied history: founded by retired Cleveland cop Dan Kane (still kickin' at 86 years at the same Slavic Village home his mother was born in) to get kids off the street and into the dirt, the garden now plays host to many families from the area, including Ward 12 Councilman Tony Brancatelli's wife and son. Come tour this Slavic Village treasure, play some cornhole, and grab roasted veggies and meat off the grill.[ Morganic Garden ]

Gaelic Folk Music at the Green Corps Farm

Location: Fleet and E. 54th

Time: 1-4pm

The Cleveland Botanical Garden's Green Corps program employs high schoolers to work its six Learning Farms throughout the city. They grow, they harvest, they sell, and they lead an impressive tour. Slavic Village's Green Corps Farm has been around for three years now; stop by this sizable plot of land to see what's ripe. Traditional Celtic band Ceud Mìle Fàilte will set up shop all day. Shrine Church of St. Stanislaus Tour

Location: E. 65th and Baxter

Time: 1-4pm

The Mother Church of Cleveland’s Polish community, St. Stanislaus was the second largest gothic church in the United States when it was built over 114 years ago. An award-winning restoration and renovation, completed in November 1998, has made this church one of the most stunning in all of Ohio and a must-see for any visitor to Slavic Village. St. John Nepomucene Church Tour and Water Stop

Location: 3785 Independence Rd.

Time: 1-4pm

In 1898, 200 Catholic Americans of Czech heritage met at the East 52nd Street home of Frank Stepanik. The gathering, organized by John Jira and Charles Vana, sparked the beginnings of a new parish. In 1902, St. John Nepomucene Parish was established. Join congregants at the church's new greenspace and tour the church during Walk+Roll Slavic Village from 1-4pm.[ St. John Nepomucene ]

Washington Golf Learning Center Putting Contest

Location: 3851 Washington Park Boulevard

Time: 1-4pm

Think you have a good golf game? Prove it! During Walk+Roll Slavic Village, Cleveland Metroparks Washington Golf Learning Center will be holding a free putting competition. If you sink the putt you will be entered to win a free round of golf at any Cleveland Metorparks golf course. Clubs and balls will be provided for the contest. The putting contest will go from 1-4pm. Washington Golf Learning Center is a hidden gem in the City of Cleveland! 10 minutes from Downtown and just off of I-77, you can hit a bucket of balls at the driving range or play 9 quick holes rather than sit in rush hour traffic.[ Washington Golf LEarning Center ]

Skaters Row

Did you know that the city of Cleveland is building a new skatepark next year? Come watch local skateboarders doing some awesome tricks on temporary ramps along E. 49th. Sponsored by Public Square group and Slavic Village Skateboarding.[ Public Square Group ]

Seven Roses: Walk+Roll Pit Stop

Location: 6301 Fleet Ave.

Time: 1-4pm

Walking into the Seven Roses Deli is like stepping back in time. The restored 19th century building has a beautiful tin ceiling, floor-to-ceiling hardwood shelves, a rolling library ladder, hardwood floors, and delicate lace curtains. Grab a kielbasa sandwich, a cold beverage, and take a seat on the sidewalk to watch people Walk+Roll on Fleet Avenue.[ Seven Roses Deli ]

Zumba with Kayla Carreon

Location: 3844 Washington Park Blvd @ main stage

Time: 2-3pm

We all know working out can be healthy, rewarding and beneficial, but it's never been known to be an exhilarating experience until now! The Zumba® program fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness program that will blow you away. From 2-3pm during Walk+Roll Slavic Village certified Zumba instructor Kayla Carreon, will be introducing participants to this unique, fun fitness program. Guided Bicycle Tours

Location: 3844 Washington Park @ event information table

Time: 1:00, 1:30, 2:00, 2:30, 3:00

Ohio City Bicycle Co-op and ClevelandBikes will give you confidence and the skills for you to feel comfortable riding with traffic. These guided rides will include a brief safety talk and a tour of activities located along and off the closed street route. Rides will leave every half hour and will be limited to 10 people per group. Bicycling for short errands will make you healthier, happier and save you money!

Literacy Through the Arts Performances

Location: 3844 Washington Park @ the main stage

Time: 3-4:30pm

Come watch as some of Slavic Village's most talented youth perform on stage. Literacy Through the Arts youth performances will take place at Washington Reservation from 3-4:30pm. There will be bands, singers, poetry and much more.

Golden Ciphers Art Alley

Location: Morgana Run Trail

Time: 1-4pm

Golden Ciphers is an African American grassroots organization located in Broadway Slavic Village. Join them along the Morgana Run Trail to listen to the beats of their drum corp and check out some of their amazing art pieces. This will take place from 1-4pm during Walk+Roll Slavic Village[ Golden Ciphers website ]

Walk+Roll Event Information Table

Location: 3844 Washington Reservation

Time: 1-6pm

Not sure where to go when you get to Walk+Roll Slavic Village? Stop by the event information table to pick up an event map located at Washington Reservation (3844 Washington Park Blvd). You can also register your bike for free in the City of Cleveland, compliments of Councilman Brancatelli. In addition the NOACA Air Quality Program and the Cleveland Water Department will be there with bike maps and information. Note: All event bicycle tours will leave from the event information table each half hour starting at 1pm.

De'Nobile's: Walk+Roll Pit Stop

Location: E. 65th and Fleet

Time: 1-4pm

Stop by De'Nobile's to refuel with a slice of pizza and a cold beverage.

Dedication of the Wheel Flower

Location: E. 49th and Morgana Run Trail

Time: 3pm

Join Cleveland Public Art, Slavic Village Development, and community leaders for the dedication of the 35ft sculpture called "Rotaflora," wheel flower in Latin. Following the dedication at 3pm there will be free ice cream
